Community Probation Services and Community work

Some community probation service centres have been closed due to earthquake damage. The closed centres are Armagh Street, Pages Road, Peterborough Street, Stanmore Street, Kingsley Street and Winston Avenue.

The Department of Corrections says it is making text and phone contact with all offenders serving sentences and orders in the community in the Christchurch area to confirm their safety and whereabouts.

Offenders who have not yet been contacted are urged to phone 0800 222 337. This line will be staffed between 8am and 6pm daily.

Community work recommenced yesterday (Tuesday, 1 March). Offenders are being advised to report at 8:30am to either 16 Winston Avenue, 209 Annex Road or Nga Hau e Wha Marae at 250 Pages Road. (Source: Information on Department of Corrections website).
