IPLS reports that its Christchurch colleagues are all safe from injury. As a result of the earthquake all upcoming onsite blocks in Christchurch have been cancelled while the situation is assessed, along with possible solutions for future onsite blocks.
Christchurch-based trainees that are due to sit online assessments, are advised that they will qualify for a deferral. Instructors will liaise with them as communication improves in Christchurch to advise of alternative dates for assessments. Over 50 trainees are affected by the closure of the premises in Christchurch over the next few weeks. IPLS says it will look at alternative means of delivery for the last few weeks of their course as soon as it can assess the situation down there.
Trainees who are looking at the possibility of transferring their onsite intake to another centre have been advised to contact the IPLS national office on 09 358 1204. (Source: Information posted on IPLS website).
