The Ministry of Justice says it is approaching earthquake response by planning across four phases. The initial focus is not on business continuity, but on disaster recovery and provision of essential services after the emergency. Further details will be provided when available at http://www.justice.govt.nz/media/christchurch-earthquake-february-2011/christchurch-earthquake-justice-services.
“The ministry is working with the New Zealand Law Society in Canterbury and Westland in order to assist the ministry’s planning phases. Details of how Christchurch lawyers have been affected, changes to contact details and future availability for proceedings will be required,” the ministry has stated in a message to the Law Society.
