Interim arrangements remain in place to hold District Court services essential to support law and order. These include arrest courts, remand appearances applications and bail matters, and also apply to Youth Court matters. Court fixtures scheduled in Timaru, Ashburton, Rangiora and Kaikoura are largely going ahead as planned this week.
All non essential High Court matters set down for this week are adjourned. The High Court is in a position to deal with Christchurch proceedings. Counsel may contact the Wellington registry of the High Court to arrange hearing dates and venues for proceedings.
Until further notice applications for any High Court matters may be lodged in the Wellington registry of the High Court. Postal or electronic filing will be accepted.
