In-house lawyers may not be aware of the full range of resources and services offered by the NZLS library. The libraries offer invaluable tools that make it easier to stay on top of legal and corporate developments.
Situated in Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, and Christchurch the libraries also offer a nationwide delivery service. Wellington based law librarian Robin Anderson says their collection goes wider than just legal information and includes extensive resources through the EPIC collection of databases. This includes reference resources in the Gale database in areas including business economics and theory, general business and access to the respected LegalTrac database of 1400 legal publications. Another of the EPIC databases is Academic OneFile which provides extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology and literature with millions of articles available in both PDF and HTML full-text with no restrictions. It is updated daily and even includes full-text coverage of the New York Times back to 1995.
