Legal Aid Provider Certificate of Standing
For a certificate issued by the New Zealand Law Society please fill out and submit a request online. Please note that certificates of standing are valid for 3 months only. Certificates must be filed with the Ministry of Justice within this 3 month period.
The Certificate of Standing covers upheld complaints and disciplinary tribunal matters from 1 August 2008 and any disciplinary charges before the New Zealand Law Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal under the Law Practitioners Act 1982.
The cost per Certificate is $NZ30, payable at time of application. You can pay this directly to the New Zealand Law Society's bank account (No: 123140.0119103.07) or mail the cheque to the NZLS. If you pay by bank transfer you must include your name and the reference "LA COS" on the bank detail.
