District Courts in Auckland update

Last year the Ministry of Justice advised that from 31 January, District Courts in the Auckland region will be managed on a regional basis. There will be no change to the services available to customers at each courthouse.

A detailed update is attached. Here are some key points to note.

New postal address for Civil and Family Services at District Courts in Auckland

From 31 January, documents for the Civil jurisdiction, Disputes Tribunal, Tenancy Tribunal and Family Court at all District Courts in the Auckland region should be mailed directly to one of these addresses.

District Court Civil and Family Services

DX: CX10150 or Private Bag 92191, Victoria Street West, Auckland 1142. 

Location of Civil and Family Case Management team

The Civil and Family Case Management team will be based at:

  • Auckland District Courthouse – serving Auckland, North Shore, Warkworth and Waitakere District Courts; and
  • Manukau District Courthouse – serving Manukau, Papakura and Pukekohe District Courts.

Contacting case owners

As part of the change, some case owners (previous known as case managers) are relocating. In addition, some files will be reallocated to a different case owner.

During the transition, to contact a case owner please phone the main number for any courthouse, such as 09 916 9000 and the contact centre will either help with your enquiry or transfer you to the appropriate case owner.
