Evaluating Lawyer - Auckland
The SFO is a highly specialised government department responsible for serious or complex fraud investigations and prosecutions. We all take pride in the work that we do towards keeping New Zealand safe from financial crime, bribery and corruption. We employ an excellent team of accountants, lawyers and investigators to ensure we do just that.
The Evaluating Lawyer is the first point of contact for any allegations of financial crime reported to the SFO. You will work within a talented team, and will be responsible for the initial evaluation of complaints and the referral to other agencies where appropriate if they don’t meet SFO criteria. Where a complaint requires further action, you will get the opportunity to contribute to more in depth evaluations and manage the complaint through to final resolution under the guidance of our senior team members.
This is a fantastic opportunity if you have a legal qualification and up to one year’s post qualification experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident performer with commercial acumen and the ability to apply good judgement, great analytical and problem identification skills. In return we will give you some really experience in detecting and assessing financial crime.
