Junior Solicitor - Enforcement - Auckland

We are seeking a Junior Solicitor with 1- 3 years PQE to join our Enforcement team, which sits with the Regulatory Litigation team.

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

In this role, you will conduct prosecutions in the District Courts under the Dog Control Act 1996, Food Act 2014, Health Act 1956, and other regulatory legislation. You will observe obligations under the Criminal Procedure Act 2011 and the Solicitor General’s Prosecution Guidelines and ensure Council is a model enforcement litigant. For the right candidate there will also be opportunities to be involved in civil enforcement proceedings and appeals.

You will be an energetic and proactive member of high performing litigation/dispute resolution professionals who are dedicated to delivering high quality legal services across the Council family. You will engage and build relationships with internal client groups to provide advice and support in the general area of criminal and regulatory litigation (including all court, tribunal, and mediation matters, outside of those arising from the exercise of Council's regulatory functions).

He kōrero mōu: About you

Experience in enforcement and prosecutions is preferred. You will have the ability to deliver technically robust legal advice, deploy great stakeholder management skills, have excellent advocacy and case management skills to be able to conduct cases in-house from start to finish where appropriate.
