About the role

Our Senior Corporate Lawyers focus on delivering valuable and pragmatic commercial and legal outcomes for BNZ and our customers. Reporting to the Head of Legal - Dispute Resolution, this is a key role which acts as a strategic adviser on significant litigation and dispute resolution for BNZ.

Your key focus will be to work closely with stakeholders across the bank, assisting with managing significant litigation involving BNZ.

You'll also be responsible for providing high quality and timely advice to business units on dispute resolution, remediations and court-related matters.

About you

You'll bring at least five years' experience in litigation and dispute resolution in a top tier law firm or large corporate organisation, ideally with a background in banking and finance dispute resolution. You'll possess strong technical and negotiation skills, the ability to work independently but also collaboratively and the willingness to mentor more junior members of the legal team.

You will be a highly skilled communicator with demonstrated success in influencing senior stakeholders and a high level of motivation and passion to secure positive outcomes for our customers and each other.
