About the role
Reporting to the General Manager Professional Standards (Regulatory), our National Complaints Manager is responsible for leading, growing and developing the Lawyers Complaints Service (LCS) department of the Law Society.

The Lawyers Complaints Service is a key function of the Law Society that deals with a wide range of people, including the public and members of the legal profession to resolve complaints on the conduct of lawyers. This exciting leadership role sees our National Complaints Manager engaging the LCS department to promote a culture of collaboration, whilst supporting the Law Society to deliver its regulatory strategy and regulatory function.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours each week. We embrace flexible working to support our staff to deliver their best and achieve a good work/life balance.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in Law, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Ability to provide precise legal advice and take a strategic approach when required
  • Experience in legal, complaint handling, investigative and/ or dispute resolution environment
  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to lead, mentor and develop a team
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, and the ability to communicate at all levels
