What does Magna Carta mean in 21st century New Zealand?

This month the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta is being celebrated around the world. To commemorate the anniversary, the New Zealand Law Society is publishing short articles from eight New Zealanders who have been key participants in commenting on and helping to shape our constitution and legal system. They were asked to write on the subject “What Magna Carta means to me in 21st century New Zealand”.
