Intellectual Property Position: Andrew Brown QC

This is a great opportunity to join a busy and interesting IP barrister's practice located in Bankside Chambers.

I am looking for a barrister/solicitor with 2 - 5 PQE with knowledge and experience in intellectual property.   The practice involves continuous mentoring and working with Andrew Brown QC and another barrister team member.

The work provides excellent opportunities to enhance your skills including appearances at hearings and in court, working with clients both in New Zealand and overseas and as well as briefing and preparing evidence.  

The practice is fast paced and varied involving every aspect of intellectual property work including extensive copyright issues, patent disputes, trade mark disputes, breach of confidence, Fair Trading Act issues and Plant Variety Rights.   Aspects of contract law and evidence also inevitably and frequently arise.

The position will suit an applicant with a strong academic record and excellent research skills.  You will need to:

  • Be tech-savvy
  • Have a collegial approach
