Arthur Montague Ongley OBE, 1882 – 1974

Mr Arthur Ongley has died in Palmerston North aged 92. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1906 and as a barrister in 1911. He practised in Palmerston North until a few years before his death. He was a former Crown Solicitor.

Mr Ongley was prominent in sport, particularly rugby and cricket, and was awarded an OBE in 1959 to honour his service to sport. His son, Mr JA Ongley, is a Vice-President of the New Zealand Law Society.
