Peter McCarthy and Anthea Williams join MPI's legal team

Former Crown Counsel, Peter McCarthy and Anthea Williams, have both been appointed Principal Legal Advisors at the Ministry for Primary Industries.

While at Crown Law Peter managed one of the Public Law teams and his work involved advice and litigation in a range of natural resources areas, including a secondment to manage the former Ministry of Fisheries Legal team over the merger that established MPI. Peter has been Acting Chief Legal at MPI for the last few months, prior to the return of Mark Patchett on 7 July.

Anthea is an experienced litigator who specialises and publishes in administrative, public and tort law. She was previously Private Secretary to the Attorney-General. Anthea is also a member of the Legislation Advisory Committee.
