The Criminal Investigations (Bodily Samples) Amendment Regulations 2019 have been gazetted and will come into force on 1 September 2019.

The regulations make one amendment to the Criminal Investigations (Bodily Samples) Regulations 2004.

The amendment is to form 6 of the regulations. Under the heading “What will the bodily sample be used for if I consent to it being taken?” a new bullet point is inserted, reading "The results of the analysis may result in you being charged with a criminal offence."
