Acting District Court Judge Alan Paul Goodwin has been appointed a District Court Judge.

Judge Goodwin's appointment commences on 18 August 2018 and has been notified in the New Zealand Gazette.

He will exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction with a Family Court warrant.

Judge Goodwin was appointed an Acting District Court Judge in April 2016 and sworn in on 21 June 2016.

At his appointment he was an Auckland based barrister. He began legal practice as a solicitor in London, practising in family law, housing law and serious crime. He immigrated to New Zealand in 1994 and built a practice in family law. Before moving to Eden Street Chambers as a barrister, he was a managing partner at Corban Revell Lawyers.
