The Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA) has released the results of its survey of New Zealand legal industry salaries.

The survey was carried out in April 2016 by ALPMA and McLeod Duminy Careers and secured results from 69 law firms.

The full survey results are available free to participating firms, while non-participating firms can purchase a copy for A$550 (ALPMA members) or A$2,200 (non-members).

ALPMA says the report shows the highest and lowest salary paid and the "typical" salary paid for 62 roles at law firms. Salaries for each role are broken down by size of firm and location.

The New Zealand Law Society will be carrying out its annual legal salary survey in the first week of June 2016, in partnership with legal recruitment company Hays. The survey will collect data from employed lawyers in private law firms and in-house. When analysed the results will be made available without charge.
