Auckland barrister appointed District Court Judge

Auckland barrister Gabrielle Wagner has been appointed a District Court Judge with Family Court jurisdiction. She will be based in Manukau.

Admitted as a barrister and solicitor in June 1988, Ms Wagner started her career with Cairns Slane before moving to Morrison Morpeth in 1990. She worked at McCabe McMahon from 1993 to 1999, becoming a partner in 1996.

Ms Wagner has been a barrister sole since 1999, practising in all areas of family law. She has conducted several Family Court Appeals in the HIgh Court and has also held a number of positions on the New Zealand Law Society and ADLS Inc.

Judge Wagner will be sworn in on 12 July 2019 in the Auckland District Court, commencing with a powhiri at 4:00pm.
