Employment Records of Settlement can now be submitted online

This article is over 3 years old. More recent information on this subject may exist.

From 31 March 2016 Employment Records of Settlement can be submitted to the Ministry of Business, Innovations and Employment online.

Visit www.employment.govt.nz for more information, including a Quick User Guide to help with account set up and tips on using the system.

"This is part of our plan to bring more of our services online, making it easier, faster and more secure for people and businesses to access and interact with us," says MBIE national manager, case management and resolution services, Allan Galloway.

To submit Employment Records of Settlement online, you'll need:

  • all the information you usually include when you submit a Record of Settlement (eg, a completed and signed electronically-scanned copy of the Employment Record of Settlement being submitted, plus contact details for all parties involved, and any other supporting documentation) plus.
  • a RealMe account and login, which is the governments identification verification system – visit www.RealMe.govt.nz or call the RealMe Help Desk on 0508 633 564 if you need help with this.
  • a Resolve account and login, which is the Employment Mediation Services online system – visit www.employment.govt.nz webpage for more information and guidance, or link directly to the system

MBIE says it will work with those people who usually email or fax signed Records of Settlement to MBIE, to help them get up to speed with the new online system.

For people without online access, MBIE will manually process paper Employment Records of Settlement received by post at its offices, entering their details into the new system.
