After the recent earthquakes, the New Zealand Law Society | Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa hopes that lawyers, as well as their families and colleagues, are safe and well. We particularly note the impact of this seismic activity and the subsequent tsunami warnings and evacuations on top of the disruption already being experienced due to the raised Covid-19 alert levels.

The Chief Justice has issued a media statement to practising lawyers explaining the the approach the courts will take from Saturday 6 March in Auckland and the rest of the country.

The Chief Justice thanked all those who had assisted the Courts’ response to this latest disruption while at the same time coping with the impacts of the day’s extraordinary events on their own families and lives.
