The funeral of Hon Justice Maurice James Sheehan, CMG (Companion of the Order of Saint Michael and Saint George), will be streamed live when it takes place Wednesday 29 July at 11am.

Justice Sheehan died suddenly on 22 July 2020.

As a lawyer in New Zealand and a prominent Judge in Fiji and Papua New Guinea, his daughter Kate Sheehan was keen to let people know they could attend online during this difficult period for travel.

“My parents spent about 25 years in Papua New Guinea, and my father actually admitted me to the bar whilst we were there,” says Kate.

“I know that he will have many friends and colleagues who would have liked to attend the funeral but in this climate it is not always possible.”
