Parliament's Primary Production Committee has released an interim report on the Consumers' Right to Know (Country of Origin of Food) Bill.

The committee says it has released the interim report, to allow further feedback from submitters on its proposed recommendations for amendment to the bill.

The bill was referred to the committee on 12 April 2017 and 401 submissions were received. As introduced, the bill had the objective of providing a mandatory labelling system to give consumers accurate information about the country of origin of "single component" foods.
