The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) says there has been a 21% growth in Solicitor job vacancies advertised online in the year to 31 May 2016.

In its latest Jobs Online report, MBIE says there was a 28% growth over the period in vacancies advertised for the category Judicial and Other Legal Professionals. However, there was a 15% decline in vacancies advertised for conveyancers and legal executives.

The Jobs Online report measures changes in job vacancies advertised by businesses on SEEK, Trade Me Jobs, and the Education Gazette. 

There was an increase of 13.4% for all job vacancies over the year to May 2016. In the accounting, HR, legal and administrative group, the increase over the year was 11.8%.
