The Inter-Pacific Bar Association is calling for applications for its IPBA Scholarship Program being held in 2020.

IPBA is an international association of business and commercial lawyers who live in, or otherwise have a strong interest in, the Asia-Pacific Region. It was established in April 1991 at an organizing conference held in Tokyo attended by more than 500 lawyers from countries within the Asia-Pacific Region. Since then, it has grown to become the preeminent legal association in the Region, with over 1400 members from 65 jurisdictions worldwide.

Each year, the IPBA Scholarship Program brings qualified lawyers to the Annual Meeting and Conference. Until October 31, 2019, the IPBA is accepting applications for lawyers to attend the Annual Meeting and Conference in Shanghai, April 20-23, 2020. Selected Scholars will receive a conference fee waiver; roundtrip airfare; hotel accommodation; and a three-year IPBA membership.

The criteria to be selected includes:

  • Young lawyers aged under 35 or under from any jurisdiction.
  • Lawyers of any age from developing countries such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, or the Pacific Islands.

The deadline for applications is 31 October, 2019. For more information, contact the IPBA at ipbascholarships@ipba.org.
