The Ministry of Justice has opened consultation on how the Official Information Act 1982 is working in practice.

The objective is to inform a decision on whether to progress a review of the legislation.

The consultation opened on 8 March and will close at 5pm on Thursday, 18 April 2019. The process involves an online survey which asks three questions.

The ministry says the feedback which results from the consultation will assist in getting different perspectives on the issues involved. It says it intends to publish all written submissions on its website.
