The Ombudsman has published three new guides which provide information on the operation of special rules in the official information legislation.

The guide Requests for internal decision making rules covers section 22 of the Official Information Act 1982 and section 21 of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987.

The guide Requests for reasons for a decision or recommendation covers section 23 of the Official Information Act and section 22 of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act.

The guide Requests by corporate entities for their personal information covers Part 4 of both Acts. Part 4 is a special code.

The guides are published under the authority of the Ombudsmen Rules 1989.
