Law firm Anthony Harper has been named in the New Zealand Event Awards finalists for the Best Event Sponsorship category.

The firm is a finalist for its sponsorship of the Pop-up Globe theatre.

Anthony Harper says it became the inaugural sponsor of the Pop-up Globe in 2015 "and we haven't looked back".

"In 2018, we combined our areas of expertise and broke new ground. A standout this term was the launch of the first Anthony Harper Pop-up Globe Moot – a fabulous collaboration between Pop-up Globe, Anthony Harper and the University of Auckland Law School that mixed drama, debate and the law in a fun and imaginative way.

"The event was a huge success for all parties – promoting the theatre to the student audience, promoting Anthony Harper to prospective law graduates and promoting the law school as providing first class opportunities to its students. It also deepened the relationship between Anthony Harper and Pop-up Globe by providing a platform to further discuss the legal themes relevant in many of Shakespeare’s plays and activated the fun side of the law."

Anthony Harper says that over the years, over 500,000 people have attended a performance at the Pop-up Globe, both in Auckland and Christchurch, that it has supported.

The winner of the Best Event Sponsorship will be announced in March/April 2019.
