Wellington lawyer Elisabeth Welson has been re-appointed to a further term on the board of the Commerce Commission.

Economist Sue Begg has been re-appointed as Deputy Chairperson and the former Chief Executive of Auckland Council Investments, John Crawford, also joins the board as an associate.

The board of the Commerce Commission consists of six members, including the Chair, Deputy Chair and Telecommunications Commissioner. The Commission also includes three associate members, two cross-appointed from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, and Mr Crawford.

Elisabeth Welson was an associate member of the Commission between 2012 and 2013, and has been a full member since 2013. She is a lawyer and a former senior commercial Partner at Simpson Grierson. Ms Welson has significant expertise in the fields of competition, consumer and regulatory law, as well as general commercial and governance experience.
