Wellington lawyer John McCay has been appointed to the New Zealand Film Commission Board.

Mr McCay will take up his appointment from 1 October 2015 for a term which ends on 30 September 2018.

He is a partner at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts and has previously advised the Commission, Film New Zealand and New Zealand on Air, as well as having been involved in a range of New Zealand films.

Mr McCay is a former chair of Film New Zealand and a trustee of the Wellington Arts Foundation, New Zealand International Festival of the Arts, and Limbs4All Trust.
