Mackenzie Elvin has announced the promotions of two of its lawyers, Rebecca Savage and Thomas Refoy-Butler, who joined the firm’s partnership of Fiona Mackenzie, Graeme Elvin, Marcus Wilkins and Tom Elvin on 1 January 2021.

Rebecca specialises in family dispute resolution work, focusing primarily on relationship property, trust and family protection matters and associated litigation. She is frequently appointed as Counsel for Subject Person in proceedings under the Protection of Property and Personal Rights Act 1988 and is a member of the Waikato Bay of Plenty Standards Committee. Rebecca has a Masters of Law from Cambridge.

Thomas’ practice covers a broad sphere of commercial and regulatory disputes for corporate and private clients. He has specific experience with disputes concerning statutory and common law causes of action, employment, insolvency, insurance, professional disciplinary proceedings, interim relief and regulatory relief and investigations. He regularly appears as counsel in the District Court and High Court and also works closely with the independent bar.
