New appointment at Parliamentary Counsel Office

Cassie Nicholson has been appointed Deputy Chief Parliamentary Counsel (Director Drafting Legislation) from 7 June 2016.

Ms Nicholson has been with the PCO for 17 years after beginning her career as a commercial lawyer in the private sector. She joined the public sector after completing post-graduate study in law and regulation at the London School of Economics.

From 2013 to 2015 Ms Nicholson was seconded to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. She has been the acting Drafting Team Manager leading the Resources and Treaty team for the past 12 months.
