Intellectual property (IP) firm James & Wells has announced the promotion of Jason Wach to Partner. Jason has specialised in IP litigation for 13 years. Before joining James & Wells in 2016, he worked with prominent IP litigation specialist Andrew Brown QC for five years and held litigation roles at two leading commercial law firms.
Jason has extensive experience acting for local and international businesses and assisting them with obtaining and enforcing IP rights. He has appeared as counsel in numerous proceedings at all levels of New Zealand Courts and tribunals.
Jason’s practice covers all areas of IP including patents, designs, copyright, trade marks, passing off and confidential information. His experience spans a wide range of industries, and includes alternative dispute resolution (such as mediation).
Jason is a regular contributor to the peer reviewed New Zealand Intellectual Property Journal and has been recognised as a Rising Star for two consecutive years by international publisher Managing Intellectual Property.
