Barton Hoggard was announced as the newest partner at Simpson Western. Barton joined Simpson Western in 2019. He has practiced law in the United Kingdom and the Middle East, having worked in the United Arab Emirates and was a partner of English law firm, Clyde & Co, based in Dubai.
Since joining Simpson Western, Barton has established a broad commercial property practice. He has been involved in several significant New Zealand developments as well as rural acquisitions and large scale subdivisions. Barton has a particular interest in unit title developments and advises unit owners and body corporate managers on issues that arise in relation to such developments. He has also successfully navigated foreign multinationals through New Zealand's overseas investment regime to acquire sensitive land in New Zealand.
