Public Defence Service promotes Kevin Preston to Capital's Deputy Public Defender

Kevin Preston has been appointed to the role of Deputy Public Defender in Wellington with the Public Defence Service.

Admitted in England and Wales in 1992, Kevin has practiced exclusively in criminal defence work for over 20 years. 

He worked for Farleys Solicitors LLP in Manchester for almost 17 years as Solicitor-Advocate specialising in criminal defence work dealing particularly with prosecutions brought by agencies such as the Serious Fraud Office, Environment Agency and the Crown Prosecution Service.

After being admitted to the bar in New Zealand, he joined the Public Defence Service as a senior lawyer in 2012.

Mr Preston has extensive experience representing people and corporations facing prosecution for serious crime, both in New Zealand and in the United Kingdom.
