An Auckland woman has pleaded guilty to defrauding a Māori immersion school of approximately $250,000 on charges brought by the Serious Fraud Office.

Kim Symes (51) was convicted in the Manukau District Court on charges of obtaining by deception (s240 of the Crimes Act), using forged documents (s257(1)) and four charges of dishonestly using a document (s228(1)(b)). She was employed as an administrator at the school for 11 years from 2006 to 2017 and was responsible for the core financial duties for the school.

Ms Symes will appear for sentencing on 26 November 2019.
