The Department of Internal Affairs advises that a small change is being made in the appearance of the New Zealand Citizenship Certificate.

From early April 2019 the embossed Coat of Arms seal, placed on the bottom of the certificate will be replaced by the Coat of Arms, printed in black ink.

The department says lawyers may frequently certify copies of the certificate.

Guidance information on New Zealand Citizenship Certificates, including security features, is available from Evidence of Identity - Resource Material.
