The State Services Commission has launched WeCount 2019, a survey which has the objective of gathering statistical information and build a picture of LGBTQIA+ employees in the Public Sector.

WeCount 2019 aims to explore sexual identity, gender identity, and to gain a general view of individual's levels of comfort in being themselves within the Public Service.

The SSC says the questions are high-level and the survey will give a snapshot of the Rainbow Public Service and allow the broader Public Service to begin to discuss effective future work programmes around Rainbow Public Service diversity and inclusion.

WeCount 2019 is open to self-identifying LGBTQIA+ members of the New Zealand Public Service. The SSC says it’s important that only responses from this community are received so that the data is accurate and useful in helping find ways to support our people if they need it.

The survey is available here.
