The New Zealand Law Society CLE Ltd is asking lawyers to help to get a quota of volunteer jurors for a mock trial in Christchurch.

The NZLS CLE Litigation Skills programme requires members of the public, age 18 and over, who would be interested in volunteering to take part in the mock trials as jurors. Qualified lawyers are unable to take part, but could help by contacting staff, friends or family who may be interested in being a juror at these mock trials.  Up to 96 jurors are required.

The mock trials will be held on Saturday, 1 September 2018, from 8.30am-5.10pm at the Christchurch Courts, JESP.

The course is designed to improve the courtroom skills of lawyers with two to five years’ experience. On the final day of the course the participants get the opportunity to present a case in front of a real Judge and volunteer jury in a mock trial.

Volunteers aren’t paid but will receive morning and afternoon teas and a buffet lunch.
