Wi-fi services are now available in courtrooms in the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, the Court of Appeal Hearing Centre in Auckland, and the Wellington and Auckland High Court buildings.

Available since 15 February 2016, the wi-fi enables lawyers to use electronic devices for work purposes while on the premises of the courts concerned.

Ministry of Justice Deputy Secretary Higher Courts, Robert Pigou, says the introduction of the service is designed to support the process of justice and is a demonstration of the ministry's commitment to providing more modern court services.

He says the wi-fi services can be accessed by using a password which can be obtained from court staff.

"This access is subject to terms of use which will be provided along with the password."
