National specialist employment law firm Kiely Thompson Caisley brings its number of partners to six. Senior associates Laura Chapman, who joined the firm in March 2020, and Scott Worthy, with Kiely Thompson Caisley since 2013, commenced their new roles on 1 July 2021.
Laura Chapman joined Kiely Thompson Caisley after returning to New Zealand from a 13-year period of working internationally where she practised law in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and the broader Asian region. She led a team at a leading international law firm, supporting multinational employers with workplace issues across Asia Pacific. Chapman is well-versed with matters related to employee incentives, employee data privacy and the legal aspects of employee change management. She is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales, and in Hong Kong. She has broad experience in employee relations, employee dispute resolution, employee investigations and advising on the employment aspects of commercial transactions.
Scott Worthy offers broad experience advising on all workplace issues, including restructuring and redundancy, managing employee performance, disciplinary processes, privacy law and health and safety. He has a thorough familiarity with all aspects of employment dispute resolution, and regularly represents clients in mediations and has appeared before the Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
