Bills Introduced

Energy (Fuels, Levies, and References) Amendment Bill, on 14 November 2013.  To allow for the costs of meeting New Zealand's oil stockholding treaty obligation under the  Agreement on an International Energy Program to be let through a levy on fuel. Provides for the purpose of the existing petroleum or engine fuel monitoring levy (PEFML) to be extended and removes the present maximum levy rate, providing for the levy rate and fuels to which the PEFML applies to be set by regulations made by Order in Council. Electoral (Adjustment of Thresholds) Amendment Bill, on 14 November 2013. Member's Bill. To amend the Electoral Act 1993, to implement the recommendations of the Electoral Commission with respect to the party vote threshold. Introduced by Iain Lees-Galloway. 

SuperGold Health Check Bill, on 14 November 2013. Member's Bill. To provide SuperGold cardholders with an entitlement to three free doctor's visits per year. Introduced by Barbara Stewart.

New Zealand International Convention Centre Bill, on 12 November 2013. Introduced on 8 July 2013 by Hon Steven Joyce. To give effect to parts of the New Zealand International Convention Centre and Licensing Agreement entered into by the Crown and SKYCITY Entertainment Group Ltd on 5 July 2013. Comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal Assent.

Members of Parliament (Remuneration and Services) Bill, on 14 November 2013. Introduced on 5 October 2013 by Rt Hon John Key. To ensure that the House of Representatives and its members are properly supported in a way that maintains confidence in the integrity of Parliament. Comes into force on 16 December 2013, except sections 36 to 39 which come into force on 1 July 2014.

WorkSafe New Zealand Bill, on 14 November 2013. Introduced on 24 June 2013 as Health and Safety (Pike River Implementation) Bill by Hon Simon Bridges. To implement the recommendations of the Royal Commission on the Pike River Coal Mine Tragedy that require new or amended primary legislation. Establishes WorkSafe New Zealand. Comes into force on 16 December 2013.

Health and Safety in Employment Amendment Bill, on 14 November 2013. Introduced on 24 June 2013 as Health and Safety (Pike River Implementation) Bill by Hon Simon Bridges. To implement the recommendations of the Royal Commission on the Pike River Coal Mine Tragedy that require new or amended primary legislation. Amends the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 to support the introduction of a new regulatory regime for the management of hazards in the mining industry. Comes into force on 16 December 2013.

Mines Rescue Bill, on 14 November 2013. Introduced on 24 June 2013 as Health and Safety (Pike River Implementation) Bill by Hon Simon Bridges. To implement the recommendations of the Royal Commission on the Pike River Coal Mine Tragedy that require new or amended primary legislation. Creates a new Mines Rescue Act 2013 and repeals the Mines Rescue Trust Act 1991. Comes into force on 16 December 2013.
