Regulations notified: 17 to 23 February 2012

The following regulations were notified in the New Zealand Gazette published on 23 February 2012:

Major Events Management (Volvo Ocean Race Auckland Stopover) Order 2012 (SR 2012/7)
Made pursuant to sections 7, 8 and 9 of the Major Events Management Act 2007. In force 5 March 2012. Relates to the Volvo Ocean Race Auckland Stopover scheduled for Auckland between 8 and 18 March 2012. Declares the event to be a major event, identifies the major event organiser, declares the protection period for the event and declares emblems and combinations of words to be, for that period, major event emblems and major event words.

Accident Compensation (Earners’ Levy) Regulations 2012 (SR 2012/8)
Made pursuant to sections 218(5), 244, 329 and 333 of the Accident Compensation Act 2001. In force 1 April 2012. Revoke and replace the Accident Compensation (Earners’ Levy) Regulations 2011, making increases in the maximum amount of earnings in a tax year for which the earners’ levy is payable.

Accident Compensation (Experience Rating) Amendment Regulations 2012 (SR 2012/9)
Made pursuant to sections 169 and 329(1)(ca), (f) and (g) and (2) of the Accident Compensation Act 2001. In force 1 April 2012. Update the minimum liable earnings for experience rating, create a new classification unit for the applicable levy year, amend an existing classification unit for the applicable levy year, and add two schedules that record the classification units that applied during the experience period.

Accident Compensation (Work Account Levies) Regulations 2012 (SR 2012/10)
Made pursuant to sections 167(4) and (5), 244, 329 and 333 of the Accident Compensation Act 2001. In force 1 April 2012. Update the levies payable to fund the Work Account and revoke and replace the Accident Compensation (Work Account Levies) Regulations 2011, with changes to earnings levels.

Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Liability to Pay or Contribute to Cost of Treatment) Amendment Regulations 2012 (SR 2012/11)
Made pursuant to section 324 of the Accident Compensation Act 2001. Part 1 and Schedule 1 come into force on 1 April 2012, Part 2 and Schedule 2 come into force on 1 July 2012. Amend the Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Liability to Pay or Contribute to Cost of Treatment) Regulations 2003. Increase or vary amounts payable, add a new regulation providing for nurse practitioners’ costs, specify costs available for three new treatments by podiatrists and make a number of technical amendments.

Commodity Levies (Navel Oranges) Order 2012 (SR 2012/12)
Made pursuant to section 4 of the Commodity Levies Act 1990. In force 1 April 2012. Replaces and revokes the Commodity Levies (Navel Oranges) Order 2005. Imposes a levy payable to New Zealand Citrus Growers Incorporated on navel oranges that are grown in New Zealand and sold or exported as fresh fruit.

Minimum Wage Order 2012 (SR 2012/13)
Made pursuant to section 4 of the Minimum Wage Act 1983. In force 1 April 2012. Revokes and replaces the Minimum Wage Order 2011. Increases the minimum rates of pay for adult workers, new entrants, and trainees.
