Deeds statement through Dropbox: Don't click

27 July 2016

In an all-too common fraud, the name of a (genuine) Auckland lawyer is being used to send email messages which invite the recipient to click on a link.

The message, which is headed "E-Docs" refers to a "Deed Statement".

Anyone who receives such an email is cautioned against clicking on the link as it could link to malware.

The message reads as follows:

"I have just sent you a Deeds  Statement through Drop-box, Click Here to view this document.

"Kind Regards

"Yours faithfully
