We provide a wide range of legal services within those practice areas, primarily to individuals, family trusts, and small-to-medium-sized businesses.  

About the role

Your practice as an Associate will focus on conveyancing, wills & estates, trusts, relationship property, leasing, and commercial transactions. 

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the directors and be given training and mentoring to excel in your role.

If you are successful in the role, the directors would ultimately like you to take up a leadership position at Evolution Lawyers, most likely heading the firm’s property team.  Further career progression at the firm is also possible, for the right candidate.  

Tasks will include the following:

  • Managing your own files and clients, under director supervision.
  • Drafting documents, instruments, and correspondence.
  • Training, supporting, and mentoring junior lawyers at the firm.
  • Corresponding and meeting (in person and virtually) with clients.
  • Reviewing and proofing documents for others.
  • Using LandOnline to complete settlements.
  • Legal Research.
  • Assisting with the development of processes, precedents, and other intellectual property for the firm.

Skills and experience

  • 5+ years New Zealand experience working in the area of property law.
  • Great communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Self-sufficient in terms of the administration of his or her practice.
  • Ability to problem-solve, think creatively and work collaboratively with the team.
  • A willingness to help clients and create long-lasting relationships.
