We have a fantastic opportunity in the Strategi Compliance team for someone that enjoys a fast-paced and varied role. Strategi Compliance is New Zealand's leading provider of compliance, licensing, audit and advisory services to the financial services sector. Strategi helps New Zealanders by raising standards in compliance and education in the financial services and professional services sector.

The ideal candidate would have a background in legal, compliance or professional services and would enjoy the challenge of working with financial services businesses to raise compliance standards.

Position Purpose

You will need to have a love of learning and be able to pick up new concepts quickly, be proactive, have excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.

The role will see you providing verbal and written compliance advice to many of New Zealand’s leading financial service providers.

The Compliance Advisor is responsible for several compliance-related functions. These include:

  • Working with the CEO, Compliance and Consulting Manager, Executive Director and others on compliance-related projects.
  • Keeping abreast of changes to industry legislation, regulations, Codes and FMA Guidance Notes and ensuring clients are made aware of these, are trained on them and are incorporated into their policies and processes.
  • Implementing and managing the compliance and best practice processes for selected Strategi clients. This involves both short term projects and ongoing account management of clients.
  • Promotion of Strategi’s compliance and other services to existing and potential clients.

The ideal applicant will have the following skills/attributes:

  • Legal, compliance or professional services experience.
  • Be quick to grasp new concepts and information.
  • Ability to distil complex information into practical solutions for clients.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resilience when working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be proactive and have good self/time management.
  • Ability to thrive in a professional services environment.
  • Work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
