Employment Lawyer (3-6 PQE) - Wellington

Morrison Kent’s Employment team requires an employment lawyer that is highly motivated to build their employment career and become part of our growing team.

This full-service employment practice will expose to you all aspects of

  • employment law to include:
  • disciplinary issues;
  • performance management;
  • personal grievances;
  • restructuring and redundancy;
  • parental leave;
  • health and safety;
  • salary and wage matters;
  • employment agreements; and
  • restraints of trade.

As well as appearances in mediation, you will also attend proceedings before the Employment Relations Authority, and in the Employment Court.

The role requires a self-starter who is confident in their communications with a range of clients and comfortable attending mediation or a court proceeding. They will be eager to build their knowledge, experience, and profile as an expert employment lawyer but will know when to get a second opinion. They will demonstrate clear reasoning and be capable of solving a problem, finding the most cost-effective and pragmatic solution for their clients that also achieves the right outcome.

There is also opportunity to gain experience in the dynamic litigation team to broaden your expertise. You would be exposed to a variety of complex litigation matters to include insurance, construction and commercial disputes.
