Expressions of Interest to serve as a Justice of Appeal in the Pitcairn Islands Court of Appeal

This is a call for expressions of interest to serve as a Justice of Appeal in the Pitcairn Islands Court of Appeal. A suitable candidate will have experience as a judge in a Commonwealth jurisdiction, or have been entitled to practise in a court in such a jurisdiction for more than seven years.

The Pitcairn Islands Court of Appeal has jurisdiction to hear appeals from the Pitcairn Supreme Court, which has original and unlimited jurisdiction in civil and criminal cases. Sittings of the Court are usually held by way of video link from New Zealand. In some cases, judgments of the Pitcairn Islands Court of Appeal may be appealed to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.
