Family Solicitor oportunity for experienced Family Solicitor to gain exposure and progression.

The role 

Suited to a candidate with 2+ years’ experience in family law and conveyancing. The role would be a great opportunity for someone who is looking to continue their career and gain exposure to high quality work in a forward-thinking law practice.

The role offers exposure to family law work including care of children, family violence guardianship, paternity and Oranga Tamariki, but there will also be other areas of family law work such as relationship property.

The role also offers the opportunity to grow our conveyancing practice. 

You will work directly with the firm’s Family Law Principal and work collaboratively with our other part time solicitor in a mentoring capacity. You will have the opportunity to work autonomously on files and to grow and develop your skills in a supportive and high performing team environment.

Strong candidates with less PQE will be considered provided there is a strong background of family law work experience. The role would suit full time candidates.

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Ideally, 2+ years PQE with strong experience in family law and conveyancing;
• Legal Aid provider status;
• A self-starter who is a motivated worker and brings a sense of drive to the team;
• The ability to work independently to deliver results and also enjoy being part of a team and a mentor to junior staff;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Accurate and detail focused;
• A confident, pro-active and enthusiastic approach to work;
• A proven ability to establish and retain strong client relationships;
• The ability to work constructively in a team environment;
• An ability to empathise with people form all walks of life.
