Ngāi Tahu Māori Law Centre is a publicly funded, specialist Community Law Centre. Our speciality is Māori Land Law, and we work primarily with whenua in Te Wai Pounamu. We assist clients in the management and utilisation of their Māori land and appear in the Māori Land Court on a variety of matters including estates, trusts, successions, and reservations. We also provide a range of other Kaupapa Māori services, including community outreach and education.
A position has become available for an intermediate lawyer with 3−4+ years PQE to join our team in Ōtepoti. This role would suit someone who enjoys working closely with the community, appearing for clients in court, travelling for work, and collaborating in a small team. A good sense of humour, passion for justice, and desire to work with iwi, hapū and whānau is essential for this role.
